Debt Collection

Bowden Barlow Law PA - Debt Collection ServicesAt Bowden Barlow Law, we are here for you for all of your collection needs. When it comes to collecting your accounts receivable there is only one guarantee: If you don’t do something about it, nothing will happen. You have made the sale, delivered the goods, provided the service, but haven’t been paid. Not only have you lost your profit, but you have lost the costs of the goods. Could this have been prevented? What are the chances of getting paid? What can I do to increase my chances of getting paid? These are all questions that we deal with on a daily basis. We can advise clients on which methods of extending credit will provide the most protection.

Creditor’s questions about collecting judgments, garnishment of wages or bank accounts and the effect of bankruptcy are dealt with regularly. We represent creditors with credit and collection issues. Most are business people with account receivable portfolios who require assistance with serious delinquencies. The firm’s clients include medical doctors of all disciplines, finance companies, insurance companies, credit unions, wholesale distributors and retailers. Construction tradesmen and others with lien rights enjoy additional remedies which are quite technical. We can handle liens and lien foreclosures for the Construction industry.

There is no limit to the size of case we will handle. If your practice has a large number of smaller accounts or just a few larger ones, each account gets reviewed and handled in the same professional manner. We can handle any client no matter how many or few collection matters there may be. Our experienced staff can retrieve information instantly using our state of the art collection software. Skip tracing and asset locating tools are readily available to our collection staff members. Most collection matters are handled on a contingent, no collection-no fee basis.
We offer our Debt Collection and Litigation services to clients throughout all of Florida. While our principal office is in St. Petersburg, we routinely attend court statewide. Sometimes we appear in person, other times we appear telephonically or through a network of surrogate attorneys. Regardless of where you are, let us recover your past due accounts so that you can focus on future growth.

Business Law

At Bowden Barlow Law, we strive to be an integral part of helping businesses succeed.

We assist our clients with initial establishment and ongoing maintenance of their business entities. There are many different types of business organizations. Each one has different organizational requirements and benefits. Most business men and women will benefit from operating within an entity such as a corporation or limited liability company. We can help you decide how to structure your business to obtain the maximum protection.

We guide our clients through the often complicated maze of contract negotiation and drafting, shareholder disputes, business litigation and business sale and purchase. We educate our clients on the benefit of having representation before conflicts arise. Hiring an attorney to negotiate and draft documents such as contracts, buy sell agreements, and stock purchase agreements, gives the client optimal protection for a manageable fee. We know that solid documents strengthen our clients’ positions in the event of conflict and litigation. When conflicts do arise, you can rely on our many years of experience in commercial litigation.

We are entrepreneurs. We have a passion for business. We want to be a part of our clients’ success.

Landlord Tenant Law

At Bowden Barlow Law, we are here for you for all of your Landlord Tenant needs. As collection attorneys, we are your one stop shop for all your Landlord Tenant needs. We have represented landlords, both commercial and residential for many years. Whether you need to have a lease drafted or reviewed, you will be given prompt advice regarding the law and its application to your particular situation. Eviction proceedings are given immediate and decisive attention. The issue of monetary damages for breach of lease or destruction of the leased property can be quite upsetting to a landlord. As collection attorneys, we can give landlords more insight into the likelihood of being able to collect such damages. We are not only able to file an eviction action against your delinquent tenant, but we are also able to pursue the tenant for monetary damages for past due rent and damages to your property, seek a money judgment against the tenant, and conduct post-judgment collection on any judgment obtained. We can handle your matters from start to finish.

Subrogation

Subrogation is the legal term for substituting one person’s rights for another’s, or in other words, for standing in the shoes of another. Subrogation generally involves the representation of insurance companies that have paid losses. Bowden Barlow Law represents insurance companies that have paid a loss that was caused by a liable third party. Subrogation allows the insurance company to look to the liable third party for compensation.

We represent insurance companies statewide in insurance subrogation negotiation and litigation.

Estate Planning

Bowden Barlow Law gives individuals and families the solid foundation of a personalized, customized estate plan. We help our clients reach their dreams, protect their families, and protect their legacies. We proudly serve the LGBTQ community.

It has been said that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Documents such as trusts and wills provide peace of mind to their makers and clarity to those they leave behind. Your free estate plan consultation will include discussions of your property and what you would like to do with it after your death. The alternative is to let the State decide who gets what you have worked so hard to accumulate. The discussion will also include end of life issues, such as the need for a Durable Power of Attorney, Appointment of a Health Care Surrogate, Living Wills and Advanced Directives. Estate planning can maximize your wealth and minimize the time and costs that your loved ones will be subjected to after your passing.

After the loss of a loved one, we give sound and compassionate probate and trust administration representation to our clients. We are committed to being a source of light, peace and comfort for our clients during what is often one of their darkest hours.
